Stanford Local Programming Contest 1996

Final Results

I have calculated the final results and it was a clean sweep by the undergraduates. There was a four-way tie for fourth place (each student solving 3 problems each). Thus, we had to calculate the total time consumed in order to break the tie. You can view the Details of the tie-breaker calculation.

Here are the students who will represent Stanford at the ACM Pacific Regional Contest, and hopefully at the The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest:

Team One

Name Year Problems Solved
Sean Treichler Junior 5
Chad Whipkey Sophomore 5
Peter Kim Senior 4

Team Two

Name Year Problems Solved
Theodore Hwa Sophomore 3
Grant Glouser Senior 3
Hubie Chen Sophomore 3

Team Alternate: Salim Yusufali (Junior) (3 problems solved)

Congratulations to all who participated, and good luck to both of Stanford's teams as we look forward to great success in the Regionals.
